It is hard to believe it, but Mallory is now five years old. Clint and I took her out for birthday lunch, which was basically an excuse for all three of us to eat too much queso.
Our waiter had the same birthday as Mallory and was happy to oblige when I asked him to bring her a surprise dessert. Mallory did not know what to make of it - and she scrambled under the table when he starting to sing to her.
It was a really fun lunch for all of us and is something I think we will continue to do with each kiddo on their birthdays.
I made Mallory a "memory book" with all of my favorite pictures from her birth through our recent vacation. It was quite a project that ended up being 100 pages long! The book turned out great and I think Mallory really likes it. Thank goodness for all the technology out there that made it much easier for me!
Mallory had a swim party at this cool indoor pool. We invited all of her classmates and a good number of them showed up. I think all the kids had fun swimming, sliding and just being kids.
Mallory's cupcake cake was the hit of the party! I wish I could take credit for it (I can take credit for the idea but not the execution). The cake designer at Central Market does a great job and I think she created the perfect Mallory look a like. Mallory LOVED it as did all the people in the grocery store and all of the people at the party.
Nana was in town for all the festivities and did most of the work at the party, so I was free to hang out.
We brought all of our pool toys - though none of them were really used much.
The two slides were the biggest hits of the party.
After we wore everyone out, we had pizza, fruit and cupcakes. Somehow all the kids automatically divided themselves into the girl end of the table and the boy end. How does that happen?
Mallory was a great hostess and was very sweet to all of her friends as she handed out their goodie bags.
And now, I can relax because I do not have to plan a birthday party for another 10 months!
